The composition originated from a walk through downtown Guadalajara, where the Catedral de Guadalajara rises above the surrounding streets with an imposing presence that feels both historical and alive. The linework draws from two parallel influences - architectural drafting, with its precise rendering of structure, proportion, and perspective, and the graphic style of Moebius, the French cartoonist known for his densely detailed, dreamlike worlds. A fantastical creature drawn from a vintage 1800s illustration inhabits the sky above the cathedral, its form winding through the spires.
